Caroline Tuohey
Caroline commenced her Articles in 2001 with a Blake Dawson Waldron and was admitted to practice in 2002. Her insurance litigation experience encompasses general and professional indemnity, personal injuries, public liability and transport accidents.
In 2003 Caroline relocated to the United Kingdom and commenced as an Associate with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert and gained international experience advising and acting on behalf of the National Health Service Litigation Authority in the defence of medical negligence claims made against public hospitals. After returning to Australia Caroline commenced working in-house with the Transport Accident Commission advising and acting on behalf of the Commission in the defence of common law proceedings in the County and Supreme Courts. She also appeared before VCAT in the defence of AMA impairment disputes and reviews of the Commission’s decisions in its Major Injury division. Caroline has been a volunteer solicitor and member of the Committee of Management at the Southport Community Legal Centre since 2002 and a former legal member of the Royal Children’s Hospital Ethics Committee. |
