Kellie holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws degree and has over 15 years experience as an insurance lawyer.
Prior to joining Guild Lawyers, Kellie was a Principal and Director of Health Legal Pty Ltd having also previously worked at two prominent Melbourne insurance law firms.
Kellie has extensive experience with advising insurers on policy coverage issues in connection with a broad range of claims and policies.
In recognition of Kellie’s knowledge of health related law she was retained by the Medical Defence Association of Victoria to write and review 11 chapters of Medicine and the Law; a Practical Guide for Doctors.
Kellie was pivotal to developing and marketing a register for health service providers that listed the legislative obligations across areas of clinical law and topics such as occupational health and safety, food, buildings and Trade Practices Act. This risk management tool was accompanied by a planned programme of training and ultimately used by more than 150 different health care organisations in Victoria.
Kellie is a regular contributor of articles to such magazines as the Health Law Bulletin, the Rural Doctors Magazine, the Aged Care Newsletter and has delivered numerous presentations to staff of insurers, large insureds and health practitioners.
