Tighan graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Asian Studies in July 2007. She was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Merit in July 2008 and admitted as a lawyer in NSW in May 2008. Since graduation Tighan has worked in the areas of commercial and property law and is now focusing on professional indemnity and health law. With respect to health, Tighan has a love of sport and has worked for the Australian Institute of Sport as both an instructor and programme coordinator.
